A Pro Ride

I still feel like a kid when an opportunity like this comes along.
This morning we are out, and went to meet Freddie for a long ride.
So I left home around 10 and met with George, Pat McCarthy and Lucas from Slipstream Team, also meeting up with Freddie.

Today's ride is the Vic loop, 5 hours. Before leaving town, we also met up with Christian VdV and David Millar. We're all set. Let's go!

Leaving Girona with a special Peloton

The weather forecast is not optimistic, although the day is perfect, not too hot and very sunny. T-storms are expected "to grow" anywhere in Catalunya... maybe I will be saved by the rain:-)

George Hincapie with the US Champion Jersey

Freddie and David

David Millar, GB Champ. Jersey

Christian Van de Velde and Lucas

Pat McCarthy
The pace is high (must say that now, that I am still breathing) and we rode in pairs, I feel good to pull when it's my turn.

Coll del Condreu ahead

After 2 hours we start the first real climb of the day, 12km. I soon was dropped, HR 185...

1km to the top Freddie came down and picked me up to go back to Girona as the sky turned dark grey.

5 minutes before arriving to Girona we got soaked.
120km ride.

Good rest

GUIDED RIDES

Something was going on last week...We had guided rides everyday!

Girona is still considered for many people as a second destination when travelling to Catalonia. Being Barcelona the main attraction, an escape to Girona (1 hour and 1/2 train ride) is a very recomendable trip. And if you want to ride for the day, we have rental bikes! If you don't want to explore by yourself, you can join our guided rides and we will come with you. There are many rides and we have one for you!

This is how the week went...

Naa and michelle training in Girona. Next stop: the Alps. Giro de Italia stage. Good luck!

And the following day, Frank arrived from Philadelphia. Joe (Breakaway bikes) recommended him to join us during his trip to Girona. We rode 3 days, 310km.

Amazing views to the PuigSacalm mountain on our way to Olot.

Another fun day. John and Kate in the village market. We climbed Santa Pellaia and rode the small roads of "el Baix Empordà".

On our way back to Girona, we met Eric and Tracy. I stoped to say hello and got stuck amongst a sheep herd.

Thursday we rode to Sant Grau and the Coast with Eric, Tracy and Frank.

GIRONA - TEMPS DE FLORS

This week is probably the busiest in the year in Girona. The flowers festival - temps de flors- is a one week event that fills the old town with flowers and art.

Some friends of us, are working on a website I recommend to visit:

Spring Time!

After moving to Barcelona a few months ago, I didnt meet up yet with Erik (Atlanta). This weekend, he took the train to Girona and we went on a ride. With his brand new bike: Orbea Orca. enjoy the spring!
